STANDARD CHARTERED DUBAI MARATHON 2014 - FRIDAY 24 JANUARY 2014


HOW TO REGISTER

Registration for the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon is available ONLINE ONLY.

42.195km Marathon

18 yrs and over
 – Start Time – 7:00 am.
Fee: 120 USD

10km Road Race

15 yrs and over – Start Time – 7:15 am.
Fee: 60 USD

3km Fun Run    

Open to all
 – Start Time – 11:00 am.
Fee: 15 USD

Rules and Regulations

The following rules and regulations apply to all entrants.
  1. The official entry form must be completed fully by each intending participant. Completion of the entry form and payment of the entry fee represents acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  2. The Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon is organised in accordance with the rules and regulations of the IAAF and AIMS and all participants agree to abide by these rules and regulations and comply with all reasonable directions and decisions made by the officials and representatives of the IAAF and AIMS.
  3. Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the organisers to ensure the participants safety. Participants run at their own risk and the organisers shall not be liable for any loss and/or damage whether personal or otherwise and howsoever arising. All participants accept responsibility for travel and medical insurance and for payment and/or reimbursement of any medical/surgical expenses incurred.
  4. There is an official six hour finish time limit for the Marathon with police and medical support. Any remaining participants after this time are requested to run on the footpaths.
  5. In accordance with the rules and regulations of the IAAF and AIMS, a runner must retire from the race immediately if requested to do so by any member of the official medical staff.
  6. No pets or any form of wheeled transport is permitted on the route.. eg. in-line skates, roller blades, bicycles etc.
  7. There will be no refund or transfer of participation for those participants who do not take part or if the event is cancelled for whatever the reason.
  8. The organiser reserves the right to limit and refuse any entries.

Dubai Marathon 2011

Dubai (UAE): With just few days to go until the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon will kick off, runners from around the world are making tracks for the Middle East’s biggest mass participation running event with more than 100 nationalities set to hit the start line on Friday (Jan 21, 2011).

More than 11,000 runners representing 121 nationalities took part the three races – the marathon during the last year (2010) Marathon, the 10km and the 3km Fun Run. And with some 14,000 expected competitors in 2011, record numbers are expected when the marathon gets underway outside the American University at 7am.

Due to the road works on Al Sufouh Road, the Start of the Marathon and 10km Road Race will be changed from the 2010 start location and will be moved to a location in front of the American University Dubai and adjacent to the entrance of the New Nakheel Metro Station.

The finish for all races will be the same as the 2010 Event, in front of the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.

Marathon - 7:00 am
10km Road Race - 7:15 am
3 km Fun Run - 11:00 am

Entertainment
Live bands and DJs will be present at the Start/Finish area throughout the day to entertain the participants and spectators.

Race Day Temperature
The temperature will be approximately 10-15 degrees Celcius at the start.

Parking
Extensive parking facilities are available at Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City and the Knowledge Village area.

Please come early to avoid any rush or delays.

Race Timing
The race will be timed using the 'Championchip' electronic timing system. Chips will be provided in the race package.

RAK Half Marthon 2010

February 19, 2010-Ras Al Khaimah greeted the record field of over 2,000 entrants on Friday for the 4th edition of the RAK Half Marathon. Geoffrey Mutai of Kenya won the men's race with a time of 59:43. Mare Dibaba of Ethiopia finished runner-up with a timing of 1:07:13 as Elvan crowned her arrival in the half-marathon scene. Aselefech Mergia of Ethiopia finished third with a timing of 1:07:22.
